Every product created at Lorenz Educational Press is based on our commitment to
support teachers providing a positive educational experience for students. We strive
to produce products that embrace our mission to define learning areas vital to developing
well-rounded students and empowering our future leaders.
Lorenz Educational Press is committed to supporting teachers providing a positive
educational experience for students. Our mission is “ Bridging the Gaps in Education”
and it’s the statement behind the development of all our products. We believe that
there are important concepts that should be part of a student’s complete education,
but because of the rigors of teaching to the standards they are often not specifically
addressed.
Our publications identify those areas, provide easy-to-use activities that can
be integrated into core subject studies, and include tools for student assessment.
We’re creating supplementary materials that focus on such areas as critical thinking
and listening skills; cross-curricular learning; music and movement; and team building,
which still meet the National Standards objectives necessary to easily incorporate
them into the classroom.
Milliken Publishing
In May 2008, Lorenz purchased the Milliken Publishing Company, which had been producing
quality supplementary products for over 45 years. Particularly known for its best-selling
math and handwriting books, this division includes a complete line of materials
that spreads into all major core curriculum areas in a variety of formats. We specialize
in blackline reproducible books, workbooks, resource guides, decoratives, and cross-curricular
theme units. We also have a diverse line of full-color Transparency/ Reproducible
books, which combine color overhead transparencies with accompanying reproducible
worksheets.
Teaching and Learning Company
In November 2008, we also purchased The Teaching and Learning Company, which had
been in business for almost 15 years. This respected company is known in the educational
market for their popular language arts products (the Four Square Writing Method in particular) and their
supplementary materials for preschool and elementary-grade students. Products include teacher resource
books on every subject, including
